DEA ANNOUNCES NOMINATION FOR TRIBAL OFFICER OF THE YEAR AND FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Today, the Drug Enforcement Administration announced a request for nominations for the 2011 Tribal Narcotics Officer of the Year. "DEA wishes to recognize those officers who conduct narcotics investigations which have significant impact on the quality of life on tribal lands."

The DEA also announced a fellowship opportunity. The Leadership Fellow position requires a six month (from January 9 to June 29, 2012) residential commitment. The successful candidate will conduct research for the DEA Office of Training. Update and revise existing lesson plans. Coordinate, deliver, and/or instruct in schools for supervisory and command-level federal, state, and local law enforcement officer and civilian staff. Assist in the delivery and interpretation of course evaluation tools. Contribute to Office of Training written documents and articles. Travel interstate and internationally, as needed. Perform other duties as needed to support the mission of the DEA Office of Training.
